Clarence R. Wood, 77, a resident of La Vernia, Texas , passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2003. He was born in San Marcos , Texas , on May 21, 1926, to Thomas Alfred and Minnie Grace Wood. On May 26, 1945, he married Liladon Goodale, who preceded him in death. Mr. Wood was a warehouseman and a member of the La Vernia United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a brother, Odis Jeff Wood. He is survived by daughters Mary Jane Whitworth of San Antonio , Texas , and Patricia Kay Blackmon and husband R.C. of La Vernia; a son, Michael Ray Wood of San Antonio ; a sister, Dorothy L. Menn of Kerrville , Texas ; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia on Friday, May 23. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in the Finch Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Alan Delafield officiating. Interment followed in the Concrete Cemetery in La Vernia.
