Daughter of William T. & Josephine (Fucik) Masek. Married to Steve Oborny. Agnes A. Oborny, 85, of David City, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City with Msgr. Adrian Herbek, and Fr. Rudy Oborny Concelebrants. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 9 from 2-5 pm at Chermok Funeral Home and from 6 - 7:30 at St. Mary's Church with a PCCW Rosary at 7:30. Agnes was born February 19, 1924 in Appleton, NE to William T. and Josephine (Fucik) Masek. On August 8, 1943 she married Steve Oborny at Assumption Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's PCCW and the Butler County Czech Club. Agnes is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen and Marilyn Oborny, of Lincoln, Francis and Susie Oborny,of Clovis, NM, and Chuck and Patricia Oborny, of David City; daughters and sons-in-law: Rosemary and Robert Sladky of Waverly, and Marianne and Bernie Matulka of David City; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Steve in 1998. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests masses.
