Bio
Delbert Lee Pittman, 78, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at his home in Alvarado. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Church, 700 McPherson, Fort Worth. Interment: Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Delbert was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Chico to Shed Pittman and Bell Jones Pittman. He retired after 31 years with Harbison & Fischer, where he worked as a plunger inspector. Retirement left time for watching westerns on the television, playing softball, football, fishing and working in his vegetable garden, all of which he loved. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and his granddaughter, Brandy Chism. Survivors: His wife of 59 years, Patsy Pittman; daughters, Cathy Peterson, Deborah Chism and Trish Barton; sons, Tommy Pittman, Mike Pittman and Jeff Pittman; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie Pittman and Richard Pittman; and sister, Elsina Terry.
