Ellen was born 21 April 1862 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to Francis William BURGE and Martha Bryson DOCKINS. Her siblings were Thomas, Sarah, Martha, William, John, Eliza, James, Mary, Joel, Louisa, Lucy, and Nancy. Ellen was married to (1) Alexander SMITHERS in 1879. They had 4 children: Joseph, Claud, Lilly, and Homer. Ellen was married to (2) Samuel J. SCHULTZ in 1905. They had 1 daughter, Lou Ellen. Ellen was married to (3) Charles Elliott HARROUN Jr. in 1932. She died 16 February 1960 in Norman, Oklahoma. ∼ Ellen Burge first married Alexander Smithers January 30, 1879 in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky. They were the parents of four known children: Joseph Smithers (1880-1967); Claud Smithers (1882-1918); Lillie Dale Smithers (1888-1986) and Elmer Horace Smithers (1895-1972. Alexander died in 1903. Ellen married again to Samuel Jacob Shultz. They were the parents of one child: Lou Ellen Shultz. Burial information from family records. She may not have a headstone.
