Norton Telegram-July 2, 2004 Blanche Oborny, 94, died June 30, at the Andbe Home in Norton. She was born April 20, 1910 in Pilsen, the daughter of Emanuel and Emma KRCH Vinduska. She attended Catholic school in Pilsen. On Oct 28, 1936 she married Louis Lentz. She was a homemaker and also worked as a telephone operator and managed the first school lunch program for the parish parochial school in Pilsen. She was the priest's housekeeper. Mr. Lentz died in 1945. In 1968, she married Edward J. Oborny and they moved to Timken. Mr. Oborny died in 1986, and in 1988, she moved to Norton to be near her family. Mrs. Oborny was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a sister, Mary, a brother, Jim, and a sister in law, Maudie Marie. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ann and Eugene Wetter, Norton; two step-children, Marcella & Bernard Stos, Otis; and Edward J. and Margaret Oborny, Bison; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and step great grandchildren. A rosary service was held Thursday at Enfield Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen. Memorials hae been established to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Norton County Hospital and the Andbe Home. Contributions may be sent to Enfield Funeral Home, 215 W. Main, Norton, KS. 67654. Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, was in charge of the arrangements in Pilsen.
