Jacquelyn E. Leach, 80, of Salmon, Idaho, passed away Monday, 3 May 2004 in Salmon. She was born 4 January 1924 in San Francisco, California to Josef Eugene Chollet and Lupe Pizer Chollet. Jackie was raised and attended schools in the Bay area. She married Steuart E. Fox in 1942. One child, a daughter, Bonnie Dee Fox, was born to this union. Steuart died of combat wounds he received while serving his country in World War II in 1944. Jackie later married Russell Aurthur Leach in 1950 in San Francisco. Russell, who served as a Marine for 16 years, enrolled in dental school soon after his discharge from the service. Upon the completion of his education and living for a short while in Salt Lake City, Utah, the couple moved to Salmon, Idaho in 1965. Jackie and Russell opened and operated a dental practice until ill health forced Russell to retire after many years of providing dental services to the Salmon community and surrounding areas. Jackie was well known for her love of animals, flower gardening, seamstress work and as an award winning crocheter. One such piece of work, a doily, is on display at the Salmon Valley Senior Citizen Center in Salmon. She is survived by her husband, Russell of Salmon; daughter, Bonnie of Mount Shasta, California; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren residing in Tennessee and one niece from Redding, California. At her request no services were planned. Arrangements were by the Salmon River Funeral Home. Note: She was buried in the Salmon Cemetery in June 2008 with her husband.
