From the June 4, 2009 edition of the Dubuque Telegraph Herald LANCASTER, Wis. - Helena A. Cummer, 94, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. William Seipp officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement's Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements. She was born on March 31, 1915, in North Lancaster, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Klein) Kasper. She married Adrian J. Cummer on Aug. 26, 1946; he preceded her in death. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Lancaster community. She was a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church. Helena enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, quilting, baking, gardening and playing cards. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving are her brothers, George Kasper, of Naperville, Ill., and Robert (Barbara) Kasper, of Elgin, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Albert (Gen) Cummer, of Normal, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Betty Cummer, of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends, who were a very important part of Helena's life. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Armien and Lawrence.
