Bio

Harmon Douglas Lipscomb was the second child and only son born to Lindsey Levi Lipscomb, 1881-1967, and Essie Douglas Lipscomb, 1887-1975. He and both of his siblings were born in Wood County, Texas. They were: 1. Addie May "Jane" Lipscomb McKay , b: June 15, 1904 d: October 27, 1999 2.(Harmon Douglas) 3. Peggy Elaine Lipscomb , b:July 27, 1924 d:August 29, 2004 His parents, Essie Douglas and Lindsey Levi Lipscomb owned and operated Lipscomb Pharmacy in Quitman, Wood County, Texas for many years, and both Douglas and his younger sister, Peggy became pharmicists. Douglas worked in numerous drug store and hospital pharmacies throughout Texas during his lifetime. Douglas died without known issue even though he married five times. He favored cats over dogs for pets and acquired a new one at the end of each marriage. He frequently expressed special pride in regard to his affiliation with the Shriners fraternal organization.
