Ogden Standard-Examiner Saturday, March 31, 1962 page 8 ISAAC D. ZUNDEL Malad - Isaac David Zundel, 93, Malad, died Thursday afternoon in an Ogden rest home. Mr. Zundel was born Sept. 18, 1868, in Willard, Utah, a son of David Eberhard and Elizabeth Jane Harding Zundel. He was married to Julia Bell Hall on April 11, 1889, in the Logan Temple. She died in October 1937. When he was 5 years old his family moved to the Washaki Indian Reservation where his father was bishop of the LDS Branch. He spent his childhood in Washaki and came to Malad in 1900. Active in the LDS Church, he was bishop of the Woodruff Ward and served a mission to the Central States. He had been president of the Malad Valley Irrigation Co., chairman of the Oneida County School Board and board member of the Malad Creamery Co. Surviving are five sons and four daughters, William, Verlin and Iril Zundel, all of Sparks, Nev.; Dwight Zundel, Pocatello, Idaho; Afton Zundel, New Port, Ore.; Mrs. Hugh (Sarah) Clark, Mrs. Ernest (Jane) Williams, Mrs. Verga Jones, all of Malad; Mrs. Wilkie (Gladys) Barnes, Phoenix, Ariz.; 30 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Malad First Ward Chapel with Bishop Howard Neal officiating. Friends may call at the family home, 500 W. 800 N., Sunday evening and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Malad City Cemetery, directed by Benson Funeral Home.
