Bio
Texas was the youngest of 8 children of Robinson "Robert" Murphey, of Kentucky, and Mary Ann Gray Murphey, born in Louisiana. The Murphey's were early settlers of Bienville Parish, LA. Texas married George Thomas James 6 Oct 1878 in Oakalla, Burnet Co., TX. George died in 1884, leaving Texas a widow at the age of 24, with 3 small children. She never remarried. She died in Fort Worth, TX. at the age of 87. Her obituary names her survivors as son R. L. James of Fort Worth; daughters Mmes. T.V. Heubel of San Diego, CA and B.F. Mann of Dallas; three grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
