Virginia Clementine Ayres White was the daughter of plantation owners John Ayres (1801-1874) and Cynthia Snow Ayres (1809-1888) She was born at Oak Lawn Plantation in Attala County, Mississippi. She married Wright R. White (1836-1917) She was mother to John Isaiah, Jonathan, James Thomas, William Eli, Dollie Varden, Harvey Edmond, Pattie Lee, Kate, Hattie C, Lena Love, and Henry White.
