Daughter of William Charles Hooper and Ardicie "Dicey" Vaughn Hooper. Athens Weekly Review Feb. 9, 1939 Mrs. Odell Buried Wednesday Morning; Rites At Cross Roads Funeral services for Mrs. J. A. Odell of Cross Roads were held Wednesday moring at teh Baptist church in that community. Mrs. Odell died Monday night following a long illness. The services were conducted by Rev. Day, pastor of the Cross Roads church, he being assisted by Rev. D. R. Cartlidge, pastor of the West Athens Baptist Church. The final rites had been postponed until Wednesday pending the arrival of Lester (Firpo) Odell, a son of the deceased, who lives at Columbia, South Carolina. He attended the services. Surviving are: her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Johnston and Mrs. Ruby Lawhorn, both of Cross Roads; two sons, Lester Odell, Columbia, South Carolina and Amos Odell, who lives South of Cross Roads.
