Alta May Smith Nelson, age 89, passed away Sunday, March 7, 1993 at her home in Pleasant Grove. She was born January 6, 1904 in Lehi, Utah to Richard Thomas Banks Smith and Amanda Jane Ross Smith. She married Alfred Victor Nelson, July 3, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died August 18, 1961. She is survived by two sons and four daughters; Richard LaMar Nelson (Yvonne), Lucerne, California; Phyllis May Radmall (Reed), Pleasant Grove; Anna Jane James (Reed), West Jordan; Kathleen Briggs, American Fork; Alfred Ross Nelson (Leuana), Orem; Judith Sorenson-Foster (Rod), Sherman, Connecticut; she is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters; one grandson and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 So. at 300 East, Pleasant Grove where friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
