Bio

George C. Cash born 1843 in Indiana to Claiborne Jewell Cash and Jane M. Lewis. He moved with his family from Williamson County, Illinois to Texas about 1859. He enlisted in Capt. Faulkner's Company Reg't 15 Texas Cavalry as a private at the age of 18, at Denton, Texas on Feb 8, 1862 and mustered in at Clarksville, Texas on March 25, 1862. He was captured at Fort Hindman- Post, Ar on Jan 11, 1863 and sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois where he died on Feb 17, 1863 as a POW. -Lisa Flowers Wilson
