White, "Penny" BLUE RIDGE — Maggie E. "Penny" White, 85, of Blue Ridge died May 17, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge with Terry Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Blue Ridge. Daughter of L.W. and Elizabeth Ingram Wilder, she was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Blue Ridge. On Sept. 30, 1939, she married Jirl White in Blue Ridge. Mrs. White worked with food service for the Blue Ridge Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge. Surviving are two daughters, Carroll Hammonds of Blue Ridge and Geraldine Bass and husband Robert of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Mardell Mills of McKinney; brother Odell Wilder of McKinney; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
