Obituary published in the "Dallas Morning News" on November 23, 1907 on page 5. "Funeral of Augustus Furche - Services held at residence and interment in Greenwood - The funeral of Augustus Furche, who died Wednesday night at 622 San Jacinto Street, took place from the residence at 2 p.m. yesterday, the interment being in Greenwood Cemetery. The services were conducted, partly in English and partly in German, by Rev. William Buehrer, pastor of the German Methodist Church. The pallbearers were Bryan T. Barry, G. H. Schoellkopf, Charles Meisterhans, J. W. Spake, Frank Hamm and Jacob Denni. The deceased was born in Germany in 1834. He came to the United States in 1857, locating in Illinois. In 1867 he came to Dallas. He was actively in business here until 1887, when he retired, having accumulated a considerable fortune. For several years preceding his death he stirred but little from home, and took no interest in public affairs."
