Bio
The funeral for Ruth I. Mumm, 77, of rural Wahoo will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo. She died Monday, April 11, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Leshara to Victor and Rose (Kudrna) Carlson. She attended District 10 Country School and Leshara Elementary School before moving to Yutan in the sixth grade. She graduated from Yutan High School in 1945 and attended Midland Lutheran College for a short time. She worked as a key punch operator at Mutual of Omaha from 1945 to February 1949, after marrying Glenn O. Mumm on Feb. 20, 1949, in Yutan. She was involved in all aspects of the farming operation. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Go-getters Extension Club. She was a 4-H leader for many years. Survivors include: her husband; two daughters, Kaye (Mrs. Michael) Jurgens of Waverly and Ann (Mrs. Gregory) Crockett of Wahoo; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and two sisters. The Revs. Jon Sloan and Todd Storm will officiate Thursday's service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo. Memorials have been established to the church, the Wahoo Public Library Building Fund and the Saunders County Hospital.
