Bio
Funeral services for Johnny Lynn Works, 48 of Carthage, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gene Simpson and Brother Charles French officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery near DeBerry. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Works passed away on Sunday night, May 3, 2009, at his home in Carthage. Johnny Lynn Works was born on January 5, 1961, in Athens, Texas to L. E. and Johnnie Florene Walker Works. He graduated from Tatum High School with the class of 1979. Mr. Works married Donna Lei McFadden on August 16, 1985, in Carthage. He worked for Samson Lone Star as a supervisor for the past four years. Mr. Works lived his lifetime in Panola County and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Bodie Works. Mr. Works is survived by his wife, Donna Works, of Carthage; two sons, Cody and Dustin Works, both of Carthage; one daughter, Brooke Works, of Carthage; one brother, Squeaky Works and wife Pam, of Carthage; three sisters, Pat Pelham and husband Marvin, of Tatum, Phyllis Capps and husband Mike, of Carthage, and Sally Woods and husband John, of Tatum; two half-brothers, Cotton Works and wife Mary, of Longview, and James Works and wife Sally, of Jefferson; two half-sisters, Rene Gay Young and Judy Cato, both of Oklahoma; and mother-in-law, Virginia Aaron, of Carthage. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Works. Serving as pallbearers are David Hunter, Todd Kirkland, Buddy Langford, Pablo Medrano, Terry Rowe, Keith Brevard, Chad Nations, Neil Horn, and Tom Sullens.
