Bio

Funeral services for Aline Gore Garrett, 83, Fruitvale, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 12, at the Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Grand Saline, with Brother Homer Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Woodside Cemetery. Mrs. Grand died June 9, 1999, in a Kaufman nursing home. She was born July 31, 1915, in Emory to the late Pat and Nora Parrish Hayes. She lived in Fruitvale most of her life, was a housewife and a member of the Lawrence Springs Baptist Church and former member of the Grand Saline Chapter of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husbands, E.L. Gore and T.T. Garrett; and son, Jimmie Don Gore. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Gore, Canton, Paulette Luckett, Fruitvale, and Shirley Calder, Gun Barrel City; brother, A.L. Hayes, Wylie; sister, Edna Boyd, Greenville, 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tony Calder, Bobby Ray Calder, Ricky Gore, Lelan Luckett and Benard Weatherall. Van Zandt News, Sunday, June 13, 1999, page 6B
