Bio

Daughter of Lewis & Elsie (Vogler) Ferguson. Married to: 1. Charles Neal. Deceased 1954. Electa Frances (Ferguson) Thompson was born on March 29, 1932 to Lewis & Elsie (Vogler) Ferguson in Ansley. She went to be with her Lord and Savior May 2, 2009, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital in Aurora, where she had made her home at the Hamilton Manor for the last four years. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1950. After high school graduation she worked at the Safeway store in Broken Bow. In 1952 she met and married Charles A. Neal and moved to South Dakota where Roger Lynn was born. After Charles’ death in 1954, she and Roger returned to Ansley where she purchased a new car from Charlie Thompson after which they started dating. They married Oct. 3, 1955, and to this union three children were born: Frances Ann, Kimberly Kay, and Dana Charles. She gained the added bonus of four grown stepchildren: Charles William, Russell Gordon, Barbara Lynn, and Mary Jane. She made her husband and children her career. She loved teaching CPR and did so for many years, and was an EMT for the Ansley Volunteer Squad. She enjoyed working the blood mobile, was a member of the Ansley First Baptist Church, American Baptist Women, Ansley Woman’s Club, Extension Club, and Job's Daughters. She rec-eived the Ak-sar-ben Good Neighbor Award in 1984. She loved growing roses and irises, until she discovered that snakes love to climb irises. She is survived by sons, Roger (Susann) Thompson of Kansas City, Mo., and Dana (Sheri) Thompson of Aurora; daughters, Frances (Steve) Linegar of Gothenburg, and Kim (Ed) Schulte of Ansley; step-children, Charles “Bill” (Carol) Thompson of Fort Collins, Colo., Russell (Jeanne) Thompson of Urbandale, Iowa, Barbara (Richard) Abel of Montrose, Colo., and Mary Jane (James) Mitera of Hastings; sisters-in-law, Althea Ferguson, Donita Ferguson, and Dorothy Province, all of Broken Bow,Marlene Rempel of Buhler, Kan., and Betty Thompson of Ansley; brother-in-law, Jack Hartford of Leeton, Mo. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, husbands Charles Neal and Charles B. Thompson, brothers Virgil, Ivan, Theodore, Kenneth and Vernon “Pete”, and sisters Marjorie Coble and Norma Hartford. Also left to cherish her memory are 12 grandchildren, Tiffany Holm, Stephanie Ricley, Josh Thompson, Dawn Penning-ton, Riley Thompson, Cerissa Linegar, Joel Schulte, Vanessa Linegar, Brittney Schulte, Dillon Linegar, Drew Thompson, and Carter Thompson; two great-grand daughters, Hayden Ricley and Emerald Pennington, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were May 6, at the First Baptist Church in Ansley, with the Rev. Bill Ragan and the Rev. Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial was in the Ansley Cemetery, with Govier Brothers Mortuary of Broken Bow in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Ansley EMT’s, the First Baptist Church in Ansley, or Hamilton Manor in Aurora. 2. Charles Thompson. Deceased 2003.
