Bio

Son of Al Lemke and Florence Kably Lemke, Gene married Louise Aagot Ellingson on 28 June 1952 in Monona, WI after serving in the Korean War. Gene and Louise made their home in Sun Prairie, WI and had three children who were Richard Oren born 17 Dec 1953, Daniel Gene born 21 Aug 1956 and Karen Vera born 29 Sept 1958. After Gene graduated from Madison Business School, he worked as an accountant at Oscar Mayer where he was still employed when he died suddenly at age 33. Gene was a charter member of the Sun Prairie Jaycees, was a SPOKE award winner and twice won the local Certificate of Merit. Gene acted as Santa Claus in the Jaycee sponsored Santa House for two seasons and was one of the most enthusiastic workers on the Toys to Tots projects. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie.
