Natchez Democrat, Thursday, March 19, 1931 DAVID DIX DIED AFTER ILLNESS Died in Brazil, Well Known and has Many Friends in Natchez The sad information was received here yesterday of the death of David Dix, son of Mrs. Sallie W. Dix and the late David M. Dix of this city. Mr. Dix was called by death following an illness at Victoria, Brazil, where he has been but a comparatively short time. Having been born in this city, David Dix, who was thirty-nine years of age spent practically his entire life in Natchez, received his education in the schools of this city, and had a very wide circle of warm friends here who will deeply regret his passing to another life. He was a member of those brave sons of the United States who served in the great world war, seeing overseas duty and holding the rank of an officer. He was a member of the heavy artillery and received his training in a camp in Texas, and was held in the highest esteem by his fellow officers in the army. Following the war he was engaged in several occupations, finally going to Victoria, Brazil, to accept an important position there. The body of Mr. Dix will be shipped to Natchez, where interment will be made at a later date. David Dix is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sally W. Dix, one daughter, Marion Dix, and one sister, Mrs. John Junkin.
