Hurbert James Minchew (January 18, 1922 - July 18, 2015) Mr. Hubert James Minchew, age 93, born in Meridian Mississippi and a resident of Bay Minette died Saturday July 18, 2015 at North Baldwin Infirmary. He was a retired air plane engine mechanic. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his children Hubbard (Jean) Minchew, Bay Minette, AL., Donnie (Dean) Minchew, Perdido, AL., Fleecy McCurdy, Bay Minette, AL., Diane Minchew, Bay Minette, AL. 1 brother Willard Minchew, Jr., Brewton, AL. 1 sister Bonnie Smith, Brewton, AL. 7 grandchildren Michael (Sonya) Minchew, Kathy Minchew, Renae (Eric) White, Newton Dewayne Minchew, Ramona Watkins, Michael Watkins, Billy (Melodie) Brown, Stephen McCurdy. 14 great grandchildren Dillon Dewayne and Andrea Nicole Minchew, Courtney, Ashley and Rachael White, Christopher Minchew, Morgan Cooley, Brian Felps, Tiffany and Ashley Watkins, Conner and Caroline Brown, Dalton and Joshua Minchew. The funeral service will be held Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Sister Helen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday July 20, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Norris Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Michael Minchew, Christopher Minchew, Dewayne Minchew, Dillon Dewayne Minchew, Billy Brown, Brian Felps, and Earl Ray Bryars. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 3343 Peachtree Rd. NE #M20 Atlanta, Ga. 30326.
