J.M. Robinson married Marjorie Ruth McNeely on 26 May 1947 at Kingsville, Texas. Services for Dr. James Monroe Robinson, Jr., 39, newly appointed Dean of Texas A&I College, was held at the First Baptist Church in Kingsville. Dr. Robinson became ill in his office on the college campus on 6 July and was treated at a Kingsville hospital before being transferred to Corpus Christi. A professor of physics, he was scheduled to become Dean of the College on 1 September, succeeding Dr. J.C. Jernigan, who had been named President. A native of Kingsville, Mr. Robinson graduated from Henrietta M. King High School and received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&I. He took his doctorate from the University of Texas. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Physics Society, American Optical Society, American Association of Physics Teachers and Texas Association of Classroom Teachers. Surviving are his wife; two daughters; two sons; two sisters - Mrs. J.A. Jiral and Mrs. Joe Boring. James M. Robinson, Jr enlisted on 18 November 1944 with the US Army. He was discharged on 17 November 1945.
