Bio

Mrs. Nettie B. McWilliams, 23, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Welch of Cross Roads and granddaughter of the late "Uncle" Dick Welch, long time correspondent of the Review, died at the Speegle-Dupuy hospital in Palestine Thursday morning, following an illness of three weeks duration. Burial was at Post Oak cemetery. Mrs. McWilliams became ill shortly after the birth of her baby, which was born on December 22, the same day that her grandfather died. She was removed to the hospital at Palestine shortly after Christmas and for a time it was thought she would recover. However, her condition became critical on Tuesday and she passed away on Thursday morning. Besides her husband and infant she is survived by her father and mother. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Welch. (Athens Review Jan. 24, 1935)
