Bio
The funeral for Walter E. "Wally" Swartz, 58, of Wahoo will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo. He died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in Wahoo. He attended elementary school in Malmo, junior high at Wahoo Public and graduated from Bishop Neumann in Wahoo. He also graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford with a drafting degree. He married JoAnn Jonas on Oct. 24, 1970, in Wahoo. He was employed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later worked at Stormor and Christensen Lumber in Fremont. He most recently worked at Magnus in Fremont. He was a charter member of Wahoo Community Alliance Church and a member of the National Rifle Association, American Motorcycle Association and Nebraska Hot Rod Association. Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Tammy (and husband, Greg) Williams of Colon and April (and husband, Barry) Koch of Woodbury, Minn. two sons, Wyatt of Mead and Travis of Fort Collins, Colo.; his parents, Edwin and Eleanor Swartz of Wahoo; three sisters, Janet Howell of Omaha, Marilyn (and husband, Paul) Kuehl of Gretna and Linda (and husband, Ron) Lievens of Austin, Texas; a sister-in-law, JoAnna (Swartz) Sims of Lincoln; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials have been established to the Wahoo Community Church Building Fund and Colorado Neurological Institute.
