Wife of Charles James Bowles. Mother of Kathy Bowles Peevler, Christy Ann Bowles Mattox and Lance Connor Bowles (deceased). Grandmother of Adam Bonebrake, Cassie Wolfe Royer, Lucas Benjamin Neumayr. Great grand mother of Sydney Kay, Catherine Kay, Jack Kay, Hunter Grace and Sophia Carolyn Royer, Nathan Bonebrake and Madison Bonebrake. Sister of Clara Bell O'Connor Brier, Mona Irene O'Connor Thompson, Edward Raymond, William Aper. ∼ Attica resident. Age 88 Passed away Thursday at Franciscan Hospital, Lafayette. Daughter of Harry and Clara O’Connor. Married Charles James “Ben” Bowles. He survives. Also surviving are daughters Kathy (Jerry) Peevler and Chris (Roy) Mattox; grandchildren Cassie (Steve) Royer, Adam (Stephanie) Bonebrake and Lucas (Catherine) Benjamin Neumayr; great-grandchildren Hunter Grace and Sophia Caroline Royer, Nate and Madison Bonebrake, Knox Harrison Neumayr, Sydney Connor Davenport, Jack Charles Kay and Ruby Catherine Kay. She was preceded in death by her only son Lance Connor, who died at the age of 16 in a car accident in 1977, brothers William and Edward, sisters Clara and Mona, and great-granddaughter Emily Katherine. Graduate of Attica High School. Mary was an activist, donated freely and quite a champion of the underdog, especially when it came to children. She was instrumental in establishing the ASK program, starting the annual city wide clean up day, started the Attica North Neighborhood Association, and worked closely with former Mayor Shepherd to build the West Street Park. She was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica. No formal services. Memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations to the Attica Community Foundation.
