Bio
Parents were James Edward Watson and Verlie Sefton Grinsted. Married Oct. 6, 1934 in Briggs, Burnet County, Texas, to Thomas Merton "Tom" McCormick. They had two children. She graduated from High School in Lampasas. She then attended Jackson Business School and kept books for her husband's business. She obtained her insurance license and sold insurance for McCormick Insurancy Agency. She also owned Ynels Gift Shop. She joined Central Christian Church in Lampasas in 1924 and became a deaconess emeritus in 1992. She was active in her church where she sang alto in the choir, taught Sunday School and was president of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the General Federated Women's Club and the 36 Club, which she served as president. She served as director of Watson Cemetery Association until she moved to Georgia in 2004 to live with her daughter. I can also say that because of her work I was able to document her branch of the family for our Famity tree records. ∼ McCormick died Oct. 13, 2008, in a Granbury nursing center. She was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Bentonville in Wells County near Alice.
