Bio

Judith Moe, known as "Judy," died at the age of 68, at her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As a child, her family moved often, due to her fathers job, at Northwestern Bell, where her Grandfather, Uncles, and Aunts, also worked. The family eventually settled in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In High School, Judy played the Clarinet for the School Band, she graduated from Washington High School, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1959. She then attended the University of South Dakota for one year, and then went to work for Northwestern Bell for two years. On July 28th, 1961, she married Howard D. Moe, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Howard had worked for Amco Steel and later worked for Northwestern Bell Phone Company. Judy became a homemaker, raising her kids. She was the PTA President, a Room Mother, and was a Designated Driver for Class Field Trips, also was a Coach and Scorekeeper, for Softball and Bowling. She began working at the Recreation Bowl in 1985 as a Bookkeeper, and later Managed the Business. When the Recreation Bowl closed down in 1992, she went to work for East Way Bowl, and managed the Big Sioux and the Interstate Ladies Bowling Tournaments, retiring in 2002. She went back to work in 2008, greeting bowlers to the Interstate Ladies Bowling Tournaments, at Suburban Lanes in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a volunteer at the East Side Luthern Church, a member of the Telecom Pioneers and the Communication workers of America Retiree's. Also a member of the Berg Cemetery Association and on the Supervisory Board with the Sioux Falls Bell Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed water walking, fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing, going to the movies, playing bridge, embroidery, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, and listening to mystery novels on tape. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by: Her husband of 47 years, Howard Moe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a son, Steven A. Moe, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a daughter, Kristine Katherine Rystrom of Brookings, South Dakota, plus three grandchildren.
