Ed Sanders (1/22/1896-2/25/1970) and his wife Helen, moved to the Silver City community in 1933. They farmed N.W. of town from 1933 to December 1944. In January 1945 they moved to Silver City. Ed did custom farm work throughout the area from 1945 through 1947. The Sanders bought the Cafe in 1946 and operated it until 1958. Ed also operated the Pool Hall for a time in 1950-51. Ed was a World War I veteran and he and Helen were continuous members of the local American Legion Post and its Auxiliary. The Sanders' had two children, daughter Marilouise and son Edward, both of whom attended the Silver City School. Marilouise graduated from SCHS in 1948 and Edward in 1953.
