Everett L. James — 1/22 BASILE — Everett Lavon "Ed" Lavon, 67, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, in his residence. He was a retired oilfield worker and an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Haidie Miller James; three sons, Charles James, Kenneth James and Greg James, all of Basile; five daughters, Catherine Fontenot, Cindy Smith, Evelyn LeBleu and Madeline James, all of Basile, and Cindy Smith of Swords; one brother, L.W. Locke of Nederland, Texas; one sister, Alma Scarborough of Nederland; 30 grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. His funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, from St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Rev. Ken Domingue will officiate. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Basile.
