Hailey -- William B. Prestridge, 69 , died in a local hospital Tuesday after a lingering illness. Mr. Prestridge was born Oct. 16, 1892, in Purdey, Okla., and traveled to Ketchum in 1937, where he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad up to time of his death. He married Emily J. Irvine in Bridgeport, Neb., on May 24, 1939, and moved with her to a home in Hailey. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Prestridge is survived by his wife, two sons, Freddie L., of Kent, Wash., and William C., with the United States Army in Germany; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert McMahan, of Mountain Home, and five brothers, John T., of Redwood City, Calif.; Earl of Texas, and Rufus, Henry and George of Olustee, Okla., and two sisters, Mrs. Dovie Combert and Mrs. C. J. Pinson, also of Olustee. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McGoldrick. Bird Chapel here with Rev. R. J. Kennedy officiating. Military rites will be accorded Mr. Prestridge at Hailey under direction of the Blaine County Post of the American Legion.
