Bio

A graveside service for Ruby Shumate Lee, 97, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Bethel Cemetery, with Bro. Shak Arrington officiating. Mrs. Lee passed away February 2, 2009, at Willowbrook Nursing Home in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born April 27, 1911, in Appleby, Texas, to George Lafayette and Constance Shumate. She was a homemaker and nurse and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She is survived by her brother, George Lafayette Shumate Jr. of Nacogdoches, Texas; nephews, Wayne Smith, Terry Shumate, Don Shumate, Charles Shumate and Billy Shumate; and nieces, Mildred Jorgensen, Betty Strode and Sandra Lewis. She was preceded in death by husbands, Pete Olds, Bernice Mills and Leo Lee. There will be no visitation. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors; Wade Alexander, director.
