Bio
She was born March 28, 1926, in rural Prague to Adolph and Lillian (Vyhlidal) Ostry. She attended a country school northwest of Prague. She married Joie Kavan on Aug. 26, 1947, in Prague. They made their home on a farm northeast of Wahoo until moving to their farm south of Morse Bluff in 1966. That was her home until moving to the Saunders County Care Center a few months ago. She was a homemaker most of her life. After the children had grown she got a job at Blevins Popcorn Company in North Bend. Saying she always wondered what it's like to puch a timecard. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Cedar Hill, the Altar Society, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 340 and Western Fraternal Plzen Lodge 9.
