She was the second child of seven children born to John and Gertrude (Simmons) Embrey. She died on Feb. 5, 2007, in Selah, at 99 years of age. She married Jack D. Collins, Sr. on March 5, 1925. They were married for almost 60 years. They lived in Beaumont, Texas, and later in White Salmon, Washington, where he worked at SDS Lumber Company in Bingen. She made and decorated the gingerbread boy for them every Christmas. She touched many lives with her happy smile and sense of humor. She lived a Christian life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bingen. She really enjoyed her friends when she was still able to go to the Senior Center in White Salmon. About 5.5 years ago, she moved to Selah to live with her daughter and son-in-law. The last two years she has had loving care at the Hartman Adult Family Home in Selah.
