Pauline H. Kohout, 91, of Wahoo died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Homestead Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. She was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Valparaiso to Louis and Pauline (Dolezal) Horky. She attended country school near Valparaiso through eighth grade and was required to help on the family farm after that. She married William Kohout on Aug. 20, 1936, in Omaha. They lived on a farm near Prague for a short time and moved to North Bend. They later moved to a farm near Weston where they resided for many years. After her husband died in 1974, she moved to Lincoln. Her stay in Lincoln was brief and she moved to Wahoo where she resided until her health failed and she moved to the Homestead Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in July 2007. Survivors include: two daughters, Adrienne Holland of Lincoln and Beverly (and husband, Rudolph "Bud") Swoboda of Indianapolis; a brother, Milton Horky of Oklahoma; a sister, Marjie Vitek of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three sisters and three brothers. The graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo with the Rev. Sean Timmerman officiating.
