Bio

At the age of 16 Cindy married William Everett.. the boy next door in Liberty, Texas, and three years later he dies and we don't know how, why or where. As a widow and mother of two girls: 1.Lucinda 1829-1910 mar Jessie Daniel Lum; 2.Elizabeth 1831-1881. in 1832, she marries her half-sister Martha's husband's younger brother Benjamin Modelle Green another neighbor.. see map for Reason Green. Not only does she inherit the Everett ranch, but in 1839 she has an inheritance of 400 acres of land in Louisiana upon the death of her father Beasley Prewitt. In addition, she was to receive nine negro slaves with Polly and Lucy, 2 cows and their calves, one horse, one mare with her colt, one sow with nine pigs, and household items. Cinderella becomes a rich propertied woman with lots in the Township of Liberty. A sketch of the town of Liberty, as laid out in May 1831, from Spanish Archives, shows Cinderella Prewitt in residence next to Beasley Prewitt Jr. Also shown in town plot is Reason Green, Amos Green and Fritz Green. Amos Green witnessed Beasley Prewitt Sr's Will of 1831. Note: The spelling of Cynthia's name on Beasley's testament is Cindie.
