Bio

Emma Louise Commons was the daughter of Carroll and Elizabeth Wilson (Harrelson) Commons amd was one of twelve children. Her brother, Morgan, was married to Mary Elizabeth Vaughan, the sister of her husband, W.N. Vaughan. Mrs. W.N. Vaughan of Lueders, age 77, whose husband died March 30, died at the Stamford Sanitarium Monday at 10:30 p.m. She had been brought to the hospital Sunday night. Funeral service was held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Methodist Church at Lueders with the pastor, Rev. C.B. Melton conducting the service. Burial was at Highland Cemetery at Stamford with Kinney Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vaughan had lived in Jones County since January 1, 1919, coming to this area from McKinney. She was Emma Louise Commons before her marriage to Mr. Vaughan on Dec. 19, 1902. She was born in Lincoln Co., Tenn. on March 2, 1875. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include four sons, E.B., W.W., and F.C. Vaughan of Lueders, and N.C. Vaughan of Albany; a daughter, Mrs. D.B. Knoble of Levelland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a brother R.F. Commons of Fort Worth. Emma's brother, John Henry Morgan Commons is also buried in Highland Cemetery (Find-A-Grave #37480020).
