Per Kaufman County death certificate he was born in Texas to Charles Garrett and Diane Kimbrell. He was married to Eunice. He was the brother of Dora Elizabeth Garrett Boles and Presley Garrett also buried at Mt. Olive. His children with Eunice were Orb, James, Gilbert, John, Wes, M.L., Gladys Gail.
