Tishomingo County News November 2009 Memorial services for Mr. Ray Marlar, 77, of Cicero, Ill., will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Antioch Freewill Baptist Church in Burnsville, MS. Burial will be in Cynthiana, KY. Kopicki Family Funeral Home of Beryn, Ill., will be in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Marlar was a former resident of Burnsville, MS and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was also a life member of the VFW 2378 and American Legion Post 0096. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (nee Barrett) and a brother, Winford. Survivors include his children, Mary Elizabeth Carbon and husband, Greg, Barrett and wife, Michele, Daryln Barendsen and husband, Joseph, Noelle Hazard and husband, Bret, and Daryl and wife, Brenda; a sister, Flaudie Hamilton; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christina, Crystal, Brandon, Caden, Melissa, William, Kathryn, Max and Abbie; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah.
