Athens Review (Athens, Texas) 5 February 1948 Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Womack, who died at her home near Malakoff Friday night at 11:50 o'clock, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist Church in Malakoff. The services were conducted by the Rev. Alton Jones of Malakoff and the Rev. R.E. Bost of Athens. Burial was in the family plot in the Post Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Duncan Robertson, Roy Robertson, Walter Garrett Ferguson, Larkin Davis and Charlie Davis. The Carroll & Lehr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Womack was born on February 10, 1878, in Palestine, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Davis, and moved to this county with her family when she was a small child. She was married to W.R. Womack on August 1, 1897, in the Post Oak community, and resided there until shortly before he died on October 30, 1945. She joined the Methodist church when she was eight years of age. Surviving are four sons, Archie Womack, Clarence Womack, George Womack and Atwood Womack, all of Malakoff; four daughters, Mrs. Lottie Hardy of Woodville and Mrs. Effie Thomas, Mrs. Ola Price and Mrs. Lola B. Griffin, all of Malakoff; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. TMSI [62448]
