Richard Leland Amos Pittsburg Jan. 29, 1921 - Sept. 19, 1996 Richard Amos, employed at U.S. Steel Corp. in Pittsburg for 35 years, died Thursday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Martinez. He was 75. The native of Sargent, Neb., lived in Pittsburg 50 years and had previously lived in Richmond. He was a member of Steelworkers Union Local 1440. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan. During World War II, he served in the Army. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Annie Amos of Pittsburg; daughters, Juanita Garibay and Loni Galusha, both of Antioch. Yvonne Campbell of Pleasant Hill and Carlotta Terrequez of Pittsburg, brothers, Adrain Amos of Galt, and James Amos of Fairfield; sisters, Beatrice Bolton of Roseburg, Ore., Merdith Burke of Orinda, and Lela Mae Estrada of Alamo; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Children, Diana Correa and Ronald Amos. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch. Contra Costa Times (Walnut Creek, CA) - Saturday, Sept. 21, 1996
