Bio

John Carter Bardin was the son of David Crockett Wasdin Bardin and Lorinda S. Jane Loden Bardin. He married Donna Cordell and had one daughter. Obituary - Veteran Weight Chief with Texas and Pacific Dies Here - John Carter Bardin, 64, superintendant of scales and weights in the engineering department of the Texas and Pacific Railway died Saturday afternoon at his residence, 6415 Velasco. Born in La Grange in 1874, he started work with the Southern Pacific there about 40 years ago. He came to Dallas 35 years ago, went to work for the Texas and Pacific three years later. He was a member of the Pentagon Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star Chapter 1, and a steward of the Grace Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. F.W. Keester, and a brother, A.T. Bardin of La Grange. Dr. H.G. Ryan will conduct services at the Guardian Funeral Chapel Monday at 1:00 p.m., assisted by Dr. A.L. Scales, and the Rev. T.M. Kirk. Pentagon Lodge and Eastern Star Chapter will conduct the burial in Restland Memorial Park. E.B. Weatherby, F.G. Shaw, R.L. Holmes, F.D. Danford, W.L. Ison, and D.W. Newton all of Dallas, will be pall bearers.
