*Independence Daily Reporter Independence, Kansas Monday, May 15, 1916 Page 1 Tom Koger Dead. Passed Away at His home at Norwich Saturday Night. Tom Koger, a former resident of Independence township, died Saturday night at his home at Norwich, Kansas. He has been sick about three weeks, suffering with spinal meningitis and was taken to the hospital at Wichita, but had returned home before death came. He is survived by his wife and four children, three girls and one boy, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Koger, and sister, Mrs. J.T. Hilyard, all of whom live west of this city. Tom Koger was between thirty and thirty-five years of age and lived most of his life in this county, and was a young man held in high esteem. About two months ago he removed from this county with his family and located at Norwich, where he engaged in the automobile business. The remains are expected to arrive in this city some time this evening and will be taken to his parents home where the funeral will take place tomorrow at an hour not yet decided on.
