Bio
Son of David Smyer and Indian Woman m. Sarah D. (Crowley) Smyer on Mar 18 Dec 1894 Although Tom's death certificate states that Bettie Crenshaw was his mother, the dates don't work for that. The 1910 Census for the widower Thomas, in District 0073, Susanville, Grant County, Oregon (page 5 of 6), states his mother's place of birth as "Indian California". Wish we knew more about her. Tom's father David is listed as "Single" in the 1870 Census. Perhaps Tom's parents never married, although I do list her as the first of David's three wives.
