note: name is John on census and some military records. Residence Wabash IN; Enlisted on 8/20/1861 as a 2nd Lieutenant. On 8/25/1861 he was commissioned into "I" Co. IN 8th Infantry He Resigned on 2/5/1862 Received Civil War disability pension on 14 June 1885. Spouse (Mary Banister) received Civil War widows pension on 26 January 1902. G.A.R. Post 291 Lafontaine
