ROSE HANKE Mrs. August Hanke, 70, of 503 9th St., Kiel, died at St. Nicholas Hospital this morning. The former Rose Knier, she was born Dec. 8, 1895, in the Town of Meeme, the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Knier. She attended St. Isidore Catholic School at Osman an was married to August Hanke of the Town of Charlestown Aug. 7, 1919, at St. Isidore Church. Mrs. Hanke was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Kiel, the Christian Mothers Society of the church, the GUG Germania Society and the Kiel Garden Club. Survivors are her husband and five daughters, Mrs. Myron (Eileen) Stemper, Sheboygan, Mrs. Earl (LaVerne) Nourigat, Gurnee, Ill., Mrs. Frederick (Lucille) Stumpges, Vista, Calif., Mrs. Norwin (Alice) Gau, Japan, Mrs. Dave (Burnice) Neeley, Clovis, N.M.; two sons, Melvin and Orville, both of Kiel; and also one sister, Mrs. Frank Brunmeier, Sheboygan, and one brother, George Knier of Osman. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, following brief rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home. The Rev. George Kiefer will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Tuesday until time of services. Miss Theresa Knier, sister of the bride was maid of honor while Mr. Hanke, brother of the groom acted as best man. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to relatives and friends at the home of the bride. In the evening a wedding dance was held at Pigeon Lake Hall.
