The Columbus Telegram , February 13, 1971 BARNAS-- Final rites Tuesday for Felix Barnas, retired Tarnov farmer Felix Barnas, 71, of 2214 17th Street, died unexpctedly Friday afternoon in St. Mary Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Scripture service is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday at McKown Funeral Home where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day. Mr. Barnas, a retired farmer, had lived in the Tarnov community before moving to Columbus. He was born there April 27, 1899 to John and Balbina Czuba Barnas, and attended St. Michael School. He married Genevive Chochon on Oct. 25, 1926 at Tarnov. Since moving to Columbus he was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Darlene) Sok of Oakland and Mrs. Ralph (Lorraine) Hemmer of Fremont; five sisters, Mrs. Peter (Mary) Pier of Spalding, Mrs. Helen Jarosz of Humphrey, Mrs. Tony (Leona) Toczek of Genoa, Mrs. Henry (Emma) Paprocki of Tarnov, Miss Rita Barnas of Columbus; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Joseph, Edward, Ralph, Carl and Arthur. The Columbus Telegram , February 17, 1971 BARNAS-- Barnas Rites - Funeral services for Felix Barnas, 71, who died Friday, were held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. The Rev. Basil Tsung officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. The Rev. Leo Wolpert was also present for the Mass. Pallbearers were: Dennis Jaworski, Arnold Jarosz, Leonard Paprocki, John J. Jarecki, Paul Sok and Allen Hemmer. McKown Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
