Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 23, 2003 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. Matilda "Tillie" Andreesen, 85 years of age, of Lincoln, NE. passed away at the Lincoln Manor, Lincoln, NE. on Tuesday morning, May 20, 2003. She was born on September 23, 1917 at Plymouth, NE. and lived in the Beatrice, NE. and Lincoln, NE. areas most of her life. She was a graduate of Jackson High School in Lincoln, NE. She and Reiner Andreesen were married in 1947 at the Zion Lutheran Church, R. Pickrell, NE. She worked for the War Department in the Department of the Navy in Washington D.C. during World War II and was employed as a housekeeper until she retired in 1979. She had attended for several years and was baptized at the First Evangelical Free Church in Lincoln, NE. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, picnics, growing flowers, and her visits with family in Kansas City. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Leber and her husband Rod on Lincoln, NE.; son Brad Andreesen and his wife Cindy of Lincoln, NE.; grandchildren Ben Leber and his wife Marisa of Bennet, NE., Jason Leber, Emily Leber, Catherine Leber, Sarah Andreesen, and Cameron Andreesen, all of Lincoln, NE.; 2 great grandchildren; brother Reuben Friesen of Grant, NE.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Abraham F. and Elizabeth (Reimer) Friesen, and 5 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 23, 2003 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. with Reverend Tom Rempel officiating. Interment will be in the Jansen Cemetery, Jansen, NE. The body will lie in state from 12-1:00 Friday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. A memorial has been established with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, NE. in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected] . They will be forwarded to the family. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
