Published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph (Tyler, Texas); Friday, September 25, 1964; Page 24 The Rev. Robert Woodrow Yager, age 48, of 1620 Englewood, died on Thursday, September 24, 1964, at a local hospital after a sudden illness. A Tyler resident for 19 years, Rev. Yager was a Baptist minister and an employee of General Electric. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Oddfellows Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife Imogene Yager; sons Robert Douglas Yager of Houston and Rev. Billy Burke of Bankerfield [sic], Okla.; daughter Mrs. Mitzie Ledford of Tyler; brothers W.G. Yager of Grapevine and Earl Yager of Mesquite; two sisters; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday [date of publication] at the East Tyler Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Massey, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Henry Carsten. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
